Theme session proposals for next year's Annual Science Conference (ASC), to be held 18–21 September 2017 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US are now being accepted.

The goals of the suggested session should address the science priorities of ICES as expressed in the Strategic Plan, the focus of which is on integrated ecosystem understanding and assessments. Linking proposals to the topics looked at by the science steering groups, strategic initiatives and/or advice is also suggested.

Applicants are also particularly encouraged to outline new formats for their sessions, such as  panel discussions, keynotes, or stakeholder participation.

Submissions should be made online by the Friday 9 September 2016. A theme session example is available to help with structuring proposals.

Proposals resulting from meetings or consultations held during this year's ASC will also be considered, provided they are submitted by midday on Wednesday, 21 September. Unsuccessful proposals from 2015 will not be considered but need to be resubmitted.
