In memoriam - Fátima Cardador

ICES is deeply saddened to inform that our colleague and good friend Fátima Cardador passed away on Wednesday 17 February 2016.
Published: 22 February 2016

Fátima was a dedicated fishery scientist who served ICES and ACOM as well as several expert and advisory groups with a high level of dedication and efficiency. She was warm and generous, with a great sense of humor, and will always be remembered.

Fátima retired from the Portuguese Marine Research Institute (IPMA) in 2011 and last December was diagnosed with lung cancer.  She is survived by her daughter Sara, brother Manuel Oliveira, and three nieces Martta,  Siiri, and Meeri.

The loss of such a wonderful warm person is a great loss in the ICES world. Fátima will stay alive in our hearts forever.
