New ICES Disease Leaflet: Piscine myocarditis (cardiomyopathy syndrome)

A new ICES Disease Leaflet has been published. Leaflet no. 59 is titled Piscine myocarditis (cardiomyopathy syndrome).

​​​​Piscine myocarditis virus (PMV) is now recognised as the cause of cardiomyopathy syndrome (CMS), a chronic heart disease primarily affecting marine farmed Atlantic salmon.  Losses occur in near market fish often without clinical signs.  The associated pathology and importance of CMS to farmed fish is discussed in this leaflet.
