A year of advancing and sharing marine science

ICES Annual Report 2018 now published.
Published: 22 May 2019

The Annual Report 2018 takes a look back at some of the highlights of our work over the past year. Our Fisheries Overview series expanded to include the Celtic Seas, as did our Ecosystem Overview series, with the addition of an overview for the Baltic Sea. The effects of climate change on our oceans, aquaculture, and ICES surveys are all showcased in the new publication.

Anne Christine Brusendorff, General Secretary, affirms that, “ICES remains focused on advancing and sharing our scientific understanding of marine ecosystems and the services they provide. 2018 was a year of this but also one where we became a UN Observer, hosted a successful Annual Science Conference in Hamburg, our training programme grew, and we even hosted our first hackathon."

"All of this is due to our dedicated community of experts who continue to advance and share natural, economic, and social science, as well as data, information, and advisory products. Take a look back at some of the highlights from the year in our Annual Report 2018."
