ICES Annual Science Conference 2018

Early career scientists

A number of events organized especially for early career scientists will take place at the ASC.

ICES: What? Who? How?

08:00–09:45 Monday 24 September, room: TBC

Many early career scientists attending the ASC have a lot of questions about how to become a member of our community. Simon Jennings, the Chair of ICES Science Committee (SCICOM), introduces this event for early career scientists to kick off the week. Enjoy your morning coffee while getting to know some of the key people within the organization, who will be there to answer all of your questions.

As there is limited capacity at this event, you must reserve a spot.

ICES ASC Mentor programme

Imagine having an ICES expert as your guide to the ASC - answering any questions you have about the conference, about ICES in general, and pointing you in the right direction in terms of people to talk to or talks to attend.

Our Mentor programme is especially aimed at those early career scientists that are new to ICES. If you are interested in taking part in this programme, please send an email including your research interests and which theme session/s you are participating in.

PopUp Scientist

Each lunchtime, a lively question and answer session will take place with a variety of scientists.

12:45–13:30 Tuesday
