WGMIXFISH holds two meetings:
- WGMIXFISH-METHODS focuses on further methodological development and documentation.
- WGMIXFISH-ADVICE aims to produce mixed fishery projections according to tested methodology and relating these to each stock’s single-species advice.
WGMIXFISH-METHODS meetings allow members the opportunity to further develop methodologies in between advice meetings, whether they be case-study-specific or of general applicability across all areas. The working group is primarily composed of
WGMIXFISH-ADVICE members but may also include other invited participants with specific expertise of interest. The working group is used to discuss all manner of methodological topics, ranging from technical aspects, such as changes to input data or consideration of additional stocks, to more fundamental changes on model assumptions, such as fleet definition and behavior. These developments are aimed at the continual improvement of advice transparency and usability for clients.
