The ICES Working Group on the Biology and Life History of Crabs (WGCRAB) look at key issues surrounding crab species.

Crab species represent some of the most valuable fisheries within the ICES area and fishing effort has increased in many of these fisheries. This requires assessments and management advice.

WGCRAB highlights issues regarding the impact of climate change on key crab species, stock biology (reproduction, recruitment, growth, and distribution), fishery discards and landings, assessment methods, and ecosystem impact of invasive crab species.
