Workshop on sustainable aquaculture in the North Atlantic

Organiser: European Commission Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG R&I), and Horizon 2020 AORA-CSA project (implemented by ICES) in close collaboration with DFO, Canada, and NOAA, USA

​​​​​The meeting aims to facilitate consensus around activities defined in the WG's 'aquaculture roadmap'. Furthermore, discussions will tackle an inventory of on-going cooperation initiatives and the establishment and funding of a trilateral aquaculture exchange programme.

Five Aquaculture Working Group priority areas will be discussed:

  • Impact assessment modelling and carrying capacity
  • Fish health, disease and climate change
  • Harmful algal blooms and mollusc disease and climate change
  • Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture
  • Public perception, public acceptance
The workshop is organized back to back with the European Aquaculture Society 2015 Conference​, 20-23 October 2015.
